You may be asking yourself “do we really have another 3-day weekend?” Yes, we do! Enjoy this Pulaski Day holiday with your kids. Casimir Pulaski Day is a holiday observed in Illinois on the first Monday of every March in memory of Casimir Pulaski (March 6, 1745 – October 11, 1779), a Revolutionary War cavalry officer born in Poland as Kazimierz Pułaski. He is known for his contributions to the U.S. military in the American Revolution by training its soldiers and cavalry.

IL 5Essentials Parent Survey
Teachers, parents and middle school students in District 65 and across Illinois have an opportunity to participate in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey: Organizing Schools for Improvement. The survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of our schools. Your feedback will be used to help our District and the State learn more about what you identify as our strengths and challenges.
Please visit the Illinois 5Essentials website at https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois and complete the survey for your child’s school. If you have children in more than one school, it is important that you complete a survey for each school. The survey takes only 10-15 minutes to complete.

This is an organization that helps any (across all income levels) family in the Willard community that may be experiencing a crisis (illness, death, and other sudden emergencies) and needs support from our community. Click here for further information about volunteers and families in need. Support may range from dinners, to carpooling, to furniture donations, etc. To find out more information about COPE, click here.

Scouting for Food – Stop Hunger in Evanston
Willard’s Cub Scouts need your help restocking Evanston’s Hemingway Food Pantry. On March 2, our boys placed blue “Scouting for Food” door hangers across the neighborhood with information about what’s needed. To make a difference, just place a bag with food donations in front of your door by 9 am Saturday, March 9, and we’ll do the rest. Scouting for Food is Pack 929’s biggest service project and benefits families who need a hand right here in Evanston. If you did not get a Scouting for Food flyer, you can just put a bag out front in a visible spot – we’ll have scouts looking for bags across the Willard area, or you can email us if a pickup was missed and we’ll send someone by. If you didn’t see a door hanger (they blow away), contact Andy Wade and we’ll make sure a helpful scout is on the
scene.
