Notes from the PTA Co-Presidents
A fun night was had at our Giving Thanks Gathering last Wednesday night! We hope you enjoyed the first and second grade performances, crafts and desserts! A HUGE thank you to the co-chairs of this event – Molly Aceves, Angie Cora and Katie Jenio – for all of their time and hard work organizing this special Willard tradition. Thank you also to all the parent and staff volunteers who helped during the event – school-wide events like Giving Thanks are only possible with your help! A special thank you to our Fine Arts Team – Mr. Fuerte, Ms. Scott and Ms. Szczepaniak, for their hard work creating the art displays and musical performances. Also, many thanks to all the families who donated grocery gift cards, money and non-perishable foods to The Willard PTA Family Fund – your support is greatly appreciated!
We hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The Willard newspaper club will begin on November 29. We will meet in the library once a week (on Wednesdays at lunch recess). Each grade will come at their designated recess time. Our goal is to publish one amazing issue of our school newspaper. The students will have the opportunity to work on writing, interviewing, comics, movie/book reviews and more! We will do our best to accommodate all interests. The publication of our paper will be celebrated with a pizza party! So, if you have a budding reporter, editor, fiction writer, poet, or comic illustrator, be sure to sign them up! To get your student involved, please fill out the permission slip that was sent home this past week in your child’s backpack and in the Friday folder. Any questions? Please email Jen Streicker at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And parents…if you want to help out — either at weekly meetings or behind the scenes with editing and design — please let me know. We could use the help!
